Strategic Study of CAE 2016, Volume 18, Issue 6,   Pages 49-52 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2016.06.010

Abstract:

Competition of talents is fundamental to international cyberspace security, and the discovery and tracking of talents is one of the key links. First, we investigate the development status of domestic and international cyberspace security competition. Then, we analyze the main problems of cyberspace security competition in discovering and tracking talents. Finally, we propose a long-term policy to discover and track talents based on cyberspace competitions.

Engineering over the Past Century

Song Jian

Strategic Study of CAE 2002, Volume 4, Issue 3,   Pages 1-5

Abstract:

This paper reviews the progress of engineering in the world over the 20 th century, and describes the important role of engineering in promoting global economic and social developments. Connecting with the 25 achievements selected from “Outstanding Engineering Achievements in China in the 20th century” sponsored by Chinese Academy of Engineering, the paper points out the great contributions made by the Chinese technical personnel to the invigoration of Chines nation and the national economic development. It speaks highly of engineers´ creative work that is recognized and respected by the whole society. The paper reiterates the fact that a country can not rank among the strong counties in the world without enough scientific and technical strength. The paper points out that there will be a new upsurge in the respect of China´s industrialization and modernization drive in the 21st century, especially in the coming 50 years.

Strategic Study of CAE 2019, Volume 21, Issue 2,   Pages 69-73 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2019.02.003

Abstract:

College medical education shoulders the two livelihood projects of education and health, as well as the important task of providing high-quality talents for the medical and healthcare undertakings. As people’s demand for health grows day by day, the medical service model has undergone significant changes in China, and the development trend of education in international medical colleges and universities puts forward higher requirements for medical colleges and universities in China. This article analyses the development status of college education for medical and healthcare personnel in China as well as the existing problems, probes into a novel national college education framework for medical and healthcare talents by taking advanced international medical education modes as reference, and puts forward relevant policy recommendations, thereby providing new thoughts for cultivating excellent medical talents in China, protecting people’s health, and promoting the development of medical industry.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2016, Volume 17, Issue 6,   Pages 527-542 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1500292

Abstract: The layout design of satellite modules is considered to be NP-hard. It is not only a complex coupled system design problem but also a special multi-objective optimization problem. The greatest challenge in solving this problem is that the function to be optimized is characterized by a multitude of local minima separated by high-energy barriers. The Wang-Landau (WL) sampling method, which is an improved Monte Carlo method, has been successfully applied to solve many optimization problems. In this paper we use the WL sampling method to optimize the layout of a satellite module. To accelerate the search for a global optimal layout, local search (LS) based on the gradient method is executed once the Monte-Carlo sweep produces a new layout. By combining the WL sampling algorithm, the LS method, and heuristic layout update strategies, a hybrid method called WL-LS is proposed to obtain a final layout scheme. Furthermore, to improve significantly the efficiency of the algorithm, we propose an accurate and fast computational method for the overlapping depth between two objects (such as two rectangular objects, two circular objects, or a rectangular object and a circular object) embedding each other. The rectangular objects are placed orthogonally. We test two instances using first 51 and then 53 objects. For both instances, the proposed WL-LS algorithm outperforms methods in the literature. Numerical results show that the WL-LS algorithm is an effective method for layout optimization of satellite modules.
